For the dramatic effect whilst writing this, I have got Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man running.
Recently it has been brought to light that Sir Kier Stamer has managed to accumulate more Gifts than any other MP by a significant amount. However Rachel Reeves has declared “Support” and has no shame declaring her £7,500 worth of clothes. Admiting that she does not intend to continue accepeting such Gifts whilst in goverment.
In a classic, as seen on an interview with Good Morning Britain, it shows that an MP is out of touch with the working class. Recognising that the common person would see this as “a bit odd”. Naturally.
Goverment needs to be transparent, and Rachel Reeves has failed miserablly to answer questions during the interview. In 2021, Angela Rayner was critical of Boris Johnson over donations being made to him to get wallpaper. Finding it “disgusting” that he cant live off his £150,000 salary. I put it to them that declaring £7,500 worth of designer clothing and covering it up as “Support” is Disgusting. Why cant she live on her £150,000 and moreover if they are unable to then perhaps its time to think about the majority of the people whom are attempting to live on significantly less income as a whole household let alone as an individual earning.
Labour have been in power now for just 83 days (at the time of writing) and thusfar I dont think many peolpe can put together a top 10 acheivements that they should be proud of. The were meant to be the alternative party. But it is rather difficult to see them as an alternative when they are doing the exact same thing.
